Engine starting

Combined ignition
If the vehicle is equipped with a manual gearbox, move the gearshift lever into neutral and fully depress the clutch pedal.
If the car is equipped with an automatic gearbox, move the selector lever to position "P" ("parking").
To start the engine, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to ?START? (?starter"). Release the ignition key immediately after the engine starts. Do not hold the ignition key in position ?START? (?starter") for more than 15 seconds.

NOTE
For security purposes, the motor vehicle can not be started when the selector of an automatic transmission is not in position "P" ("parking") or ?N? (?Neutral transmission") (only for vehicles with automatic transmission).

The provisions of the ignition
?LOCK?: ?Blocking?.

?START?: ?Starter".
?START?.
In this position, the starter motor is operating. He turns the crankshaft of the engine as long as the ignition is turned off.
?ON?.
In this position, the engine is running, and may include all electrical systems. Do not leave the ignition key in position ?ON?, when the engine is not running. This will drain the battery and the output of the ignition system failure.
"ACC".
When the ignition key is in this position, it is possible to include some electrical systems (Radio with cassette, lighter, etc.).
?LOCK?.
The ignition key can be inserted or removed only in this position.

NOTE
To unlock the steering wheel, insert the key into the ignition and turning the steering wheel lightly at the same time, turn the ignition key.

To remove the key from the ignition switch:
- Turn the ignition key to the "ACC".
- Press and turn the ignition key counter-clockwise from the "ACC" position ?LOCK?.
