Control automatic transmission

Modes switch avtomacheskoy gearbox
Fig. 1.135. Modes switch avtomacheskoy gearbox

Highly efficient automatic transmission has four gears for forward and one reverse gear. At night, when the selector is automatically illuminated signage panel.

ATTENTION
While driving the car can not move the selector lever into position ?R? or "P".

For optimum fuel economy increase the speed gradually. Selector automatically switches to the second, third speed and mode ?Overdrive? (?high range").

The assignment of the selector
"P" - "Parking."
Use this position for holding the vehicle in place while parking or starting. When parking the car set the parking brake and move the selector lever to position "P" ("parking").

ATTENTION
Do not move the lever to position "P" ("parking"), until the vehicle is completely stopped. Failure to do so may result in damage to the automatic transmission.

?R? - ?Reverse".
Use this position to reverse. Translate the selector lever into position ?R? (?Reverse") only after the vehicle is stopped.
?N? - ?Neutral?.
In this position selector automatic transmission is disabled. In this position, you can start the engine, but this is not recommended unless the engine has decayed during movement.
?D? - ?Movement."
This mode is used for traffic, automatically turns on one of the four programs. Never switch the lever to position "2" or ?L?, if the vehicle speed exceeds 95 km / h.
"2" - "Second Gear".
Use this mode when driving on a slippery road when driving uphill or engine braking when descending the mountain. Mode "2" is automatically switched between first and second gears. This does not mean that there will rise to third gear. However, the third transmission may be activated when the vehicle exceeds a certain speed in order to avoid exceeding the maximum permissible engine speed. When returning to normal driving in manual mode, move the lever to position ?D?.
?L? - ?The first transmission."
This mode is used when a steep slope or when engine braking on steep downhill. When you switch on the transfer of ?L? Transmission will remain for some time second gear until the vehicle speed is reduced sufficiently low to enable transmission. Do not exceed the speed of 50 miles / hour in low gear ?L?.

NOTE
To ensure the smooth and safe operation before translate the selector from position "P" ("parking") or ?N? (?Neutral?) to reverse gears, fully depress the brake pedal.
To move the selector from position "P" ("parking") to any other position, the brake pedal must be fully depressed.
Translate the selector from position ?R? (?Reverse?), ?N? (?Neutral?), ?D? (?Movement", the main transmission), "2" ("Second Gear?), ?L? ( "The first transmission") to "P" ("parking") is always possible. The vehicle must be completely stopped to prevent damage to the gearbox.

ATTENTION
Do not press the accelerator pedal at the time when the transmission is in reverse gear or a gear to move forward with the brake pedal depressed.
Always depress the brake pedal when translating the selector from position "P" or ?N? to position ?R?, ?D?, ?2? or ?L?.
Do not use the "P" ("parking") instead of the parking brake. Even when leaving the car for a short time, always set the parking brake, move the lever to position "P" ("parking") and switch off the ignition. Never leave the vehicle unattended while the engine is running.
Regularly check the fluid level in automatic transmission and add fluid if necessary.

Receptions correct driving
Do not move the lever out of position ?N? or "P" to another position when the accelerator pedal is depressed.
While driving the car can not move the selector lever to position "P".
Before you translate the selector in position ?R?, make sure the vehicle is completely stopped.
Do not roll downhill in neutral gear. It is very dangerous. Always keep the transmission enabled while driving.
Avoid driving style with frequent acceleration and deceleration, and do not hold your left foot on the brake pedal continuously while driving. This leads to overheating and loss of braking effectiveness. On the downhill to prevent overheating of the brakes should be applied engine braking (including downshifts).
When the downshift slightly slow down the car. Otherwise, reduced transmission may not start.
Always use the parking brake. Do not rely on the translation of the selector to the "P" in order to prevent movement of the car.
Be especially careful when driving on slippery roads. Be especially careful when braking, acceleration and gear changes. On a slippery road abrupt change in speed may cause loss of traction with the road, and loss of vehicle control.
For the most economical fuel consumption and smooth driving, activate ?Overdrive? (?overdrive"). If there is engine braking in the range of ?D? or require repetitive lifting smooth switch from 3rd to 4th gear and vice versa, it is recommended disable ?Overdrive?. In all other cases, the mode of ?Overdrive? must be enabled.

Mode switch ?Overdrive? (?overdrive")

Mode switch ?«Overdrive?»
Fig. 1.136. Mode switch ?Overdrive?

When you activate the ?Overdrive? (?overdrive") box is automatically upshift to the second, third and ?Overdrive?. If the mode is disabled, the box will not increase the transfer to ?Overdrive?. Under normal conditions, the selector must be in position ?D?, and mode ?Overdrive? activated. If you need to quickly get up to speed, fully depress the accelerator pedal. Wheel automatically decrease the transmission depending on the speed and engine load.
