Description of the construction, removal and installation of lines and transmission cooling hoses



Description

Hoses and transmission cooling lines are joined using connectors rapid joint. Flanges cooling lines are used as the sealing surface. Together with flanges for mounting lines on the nozzle type used wire clamps. The collar is installed behind the flange and serves to hold the line.

Typical couplings are used for interfacing with the transmission cooling lines (top) and for mating with a hose line (bottom).

Depending on the model year in cooling lines can be used three types of compression fittings (connectors):

a. In the first type connectors access to the mounting clip (clamp) is open.

The first type of choke quick docking connector (all models of the 1993 and 1994 models of the GG vol.).

b. In the second type terminal connectors and fitting body wrapped shrinkable material.

The second type of choke quick docking connector (some models of the 1994 and 1995 model GG vol.).

c. In the third type connectors clamp closes to pull on the outside of the housing fitting metal sleeve.

The third type of choke quick docking connector (some models 1994 Vol.).

d. A new type of couplings used on models 1995 Vol. Equipped with built-in locking tabs.

For most types of undocking compression fittings rapid joint special tool is required:

  • On models 1993 Vol. connectors for undocking first type tool required number 7555 or equivalent.
  • On models 1994 Vol. tool for undocking connectors second and third types is put directly on the tube lines. The tool provides an extension clamp, which allows to disconnect the line from the union. The same tool can also be used for uncoupling the connectors of the first type are still in use on models 1994 Vol.

A new type of connectors used on models from 1995 MY. It does not require for its undocking no special tools. They are equipped with built-in locking tabs.

Tubes, hoses and couplings transmission cooling lines can not be repaired. Damaged components must be replaced (Assembly).

Refitting

If fittings, hose or tube cooling lines covered in dirt, grease or dust, clean before undocking to use degreaser. Plastic tool for decoupling components will not enter the connector when the latter is filled with debris.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Enter a plastic tool for undocking couplings into the connector all the way into the flange line, then click on the tool, while rotating it to release the fastening clamp (clamp) and pull, remove the line from the union.
  1. Enter a plastic tool for undocking couplings inside the connector to lock it into the flange line, then click on the tool and turn it by releasing the retaining clip and pulling the line, remove it from the union (shown second connector type).

A new type of connectors (only for models from 1995 MY.)

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To undock a new type of connector fingers squeeze together the locking tabs. Note that the nozzle insert after dismemberment of the connector is on the line.

  1. If the liner is not damaged nozzle to remove it from the line is not necessary. If necessary, replace the liner simply slide the locking tabs on the connector and remove the liner from the line.
  1. If you insert a new type of connector fitting is damaged, remove it from the cooling lines bred for this connector locking tabs and replace with new.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Plug the open ends of the cooling lines to prevent the ingress of dirt into the transmission.
  2. Inspect fittings. When fitting or mounting clip line is damaged, the entire connector must be replaced by a single assembly (to replace the metal line, if it is in the order is not necessary). Before installing a new fitting do not forget to grease the threaded portion of its sealant Mopar Lock N 'Seal, Locktite 242 or their equivalent. If jammed in the hose mounting clamp (clamp) is damaged, hoses and clamps should be replaced in the assembly.
  3. Clean the fitting and the hose / line with a clean dry cloth.
  4. Insert the line into the slot and press it until it snaps into the clip.
  5. To check the reliability of connections try to disconnect a hose (line) by pulling it.

All connectors used clamps wire type serving for fastening cooling line connector. If the clip is bent or otherwise deformed, the normal line pressure is able to displace the line, causing leakage of the fluid and, consequently, the failure of the transmission. ALWAYS carefully check the reliability of fastening of transmission cooling lines in their mating connectors.

  1. Fill the transmission fluid is required grade (Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance).
  2. Perform the sea trials of the car and check for signs of leakage transmission cooling lines.
