Check ignition timing and idle speed

Checking the ignition timing
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
3. Turn off all electric power consumers.
4. Connect the engine tachometer and a high-voltage wire of the first cylinder sensor strobe.
5. combination of labels on a pulley of a cranked shaft with the index, check the ignition timing.

Ignition timing: 8 ? 5 ? BTDC (at idling speed)

A warning

The ignition timing is not adjustable.

6. If the ignition timing is not correct, replace the electronic engine control unit.

Check idle speed

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
3. Turn off all electric power consumers.
4. Connect the inductive tachometer to the spark plug of the first cylinder or connect the tach wire to the terminal 3 of the diagnostic connector (DLC).

A warning

The idle speed is not regulated and supported by an electronic control unit of the engine. Change the idle speed may be caused by irregularities in the operation of the valve control system of frequency of rotation of idling (IAC) or leaks in the intake manifold.

5. When the gear lever in neutral position, measure the idle speed.

The idle speed: 800 ? 50 min -1

6. Disconnect the tachometer from the spark plug of the first cylinder or the diagnostic connector (DLC).
7. Turn off the engine.
