Towing vehicles with automatic transmission



Motor vehicle with an automatic transmission can not be started by towing or pushing a car.


PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Turn the ignition switch to unlock the steering wheel and the direction indicators, horn and wipers when needed.
  2. Since the brake booster operates only with the engine running, the brake pedal must be more effort.
  3. Selector lever in position "N".
  4. On vehicles with all-wheel drive differential lock should not be included.

Maximum towing speed: 50 km / h!

Maximum towing distance: 80 km!

  1. For towing over longer distances front of the vehicle must be raised, or any damage to the gearbox due to insufficient lubrication.

Using the towing vehicle

Cars may be towed only on the rear wheels. Reason: When a raised rear of rotating in the opposite direction of the front wheels to rotate forcing the planetary gear automatic transmission with extremely high speeds, leading to serious damage to the automatic transmission.

On all-wheel drive cars also have to be unloaded and rear wheels, otherwise it will be overwhelmed by the intermediate differential. It is best to load the car or truck to use.
