Checking the coolant level
Check the freezing point of the coolant in the engine cooling system at least once a year - before the start of the winter season, and before traveling to a place where the ambient temperature can be negative. Check the condition and tightness of all hose connections of the engine cooling system and heater. Replace any deformed or damaged hoses.
On the cold engine coolant level should correspond to the bottom of the radiator filler neck and to be between the upper (?FULL?) and lower (?LOW?) marks on the wall of the expansion tank (Fig. 1.180). If the coolant level has fallen to the bottom mark (?LOW?), top up the coolant in the expansion tank and bring the level to the upper mark (?FULL?). In order to prevent freezing of the coolant and provide corrosion protection of the engine, use the topping up coolant only recommended brand, and the desired concentration.
NOTE If the radiator cap or the expansion tank or so they are marked ?FL22?, it should be topped up only coolant brand FL22. |
