Air Flow Sensor

Air Flow Sensor (models with 6-cylinder engine to the 1997 release)

Air flow sensor (arrow) located in the air intake duct.

Air Flow Sensor (models with 4-cylinder engine of 1998 of release)

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove and clean the sensor. Set it in place.
2. Check the power supply to the sensor.
All models with four-cylinder models with six-cylinder engine of 1998 of release
3. Check voltage between MAF and GND. On models where the connection socket has three terminals, with the ignition on and the engine stopped, the voltage should be 1.0-1.5 volts. At idle, the voltage should be 1.5-5.0 volts.
4. On models, four-socket connection with the engine off voltage should be close to zero. At idle, it should be 0.6-0.7 volts (0.6-1.1 V models 1998 release).
5. Raise the speed of the engine and check that the voltage is gradually increased to about 2 volts.
Models with the six-cylinder engine model years 1993-1997
6. Disconnect the air intake tube from the sensor. Connect a voltmeter to terminals and GND terminal MAF sensor connection. Turn on the ignition. When the valve is closed the sensor, the voltage should be 4.0 volts. When you open the valve voltage must be changed as follows:
a) the damper is open 1/4 - 2.4 Volt
b) the damper is open 1/2 - 1.6 Volt
c) valve open to 3/4 - 0.8 Volt
d) valve is fully open - 0.4 Volt

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Disconnect the connection of the sensor, remove the mounting screws or bolts (arrows) and remove the gauge.
3. Installation is spent upside-down removals.
