Camshaft position sensor



MODEL 1993-1997 years of release

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Make sure that between the terminal B + connector to connect a larger distributor of ignition and the negative battery terminal The battery voltage is present (see. Fig. Connectors connect the crankshaft position sensor / camshaft ).
2. Remove the ignition distributor into place and connect the larger of the two connection terminals.
3. Connect the voltmeter set to AC voltage measurement up to 5 volts, to terminals CID and GRD. Rotate the shaft of the distributor, make sure that one complete revolution of the voltmeter needle deviated once. Replace the sensor if it is faulty.

Replacement

In these models, the camshaft position sensor can not be replaced separately from the distributor of ignition.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Check that the resistance between the connector terminals to connect the sensor (see. Fig. Connectors connect the crankshaft position sensor / camshaft ) Is about 950-1250 ohms on models with four-cylinder engine and 550 ohm on models with six-cylinder engine. Replace the sensor if necessary.

Replacement

Models with the 4-cylinder engine

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the connection of the sensor, turn off fixing bolts and remove the gauge.
2. Installation is spent upside-down removals.

Models with the 6-cylinder engine

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a gear belt and a pulley of a camshaft.
2. Disconnect the connection of the sensor, turn off fixing bolts and remove the gauge.
3. Installation is spent upside-down removals.
