Sensor N1 (located on the ignition distributor) |
1. Remove the ignition distributor into place and connect the larger of the two connection terminals. |
2. Connect a voltmeter to terminals CKP1 and GRD. Rotate the shaft of the distributor, make sure that one complete revolution of the voltmeter needle deviated 4 times on models with four-cylinder engine and 6 times on models with 6-cylinder engine. |
3. Replace the sensor if it is faulty. |
N2 sensor (located on the cylinder block) |
| 4. Measure the gap between the sensor (arrow) and a toothed wheel on the crankshaft. It should be 0.5-1.5 mm. |
5. Check that the resistance between terminals A and B connector to connect the sensor was approximately 550 ohms. Replace the sensor if necessary. |
