The crankshaft position sensor



Crankshaft position sensor / camshaft

Crankshaft position sensor / camshaft on some models are located in the casing on the ignition distributor (arrow).

Connectors connect the crankshaft position sensor / camshaft

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Sensor N1 (located on the ignition distributor)
1. Remove the ignition distributor into place and connect the larger of the two connection terminals.
2. Connect a voltmeter to terminals CKP1 and GRD. Rotate the shaft of the distributor, make sure that one complete revolution of the voltmeter needle deviated 4 times on models with four-cylinder engine and 6 times on models with 6-cylinder engine.
3. Replace the sensor if it is faulty.
N2 sensor (located on the cylinder block)
4. Measure the gap between the sensor (arrow) and a toothed wheel on the crankshaft. It should be 0.5-1.5 mm.
5. Check that the resistance between terminals A and B connector to connect the sensor was approximately 550 ohms. Replace the sensor if necessary.

Replacing the sensor (N2)

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Disconnect the connection of the sensor, turn off fixing bolts and remove the gauge.
3. Installation is spent upside-down removals.
