Check the thickness of the friction brake linings

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Mark a paint position of the wheels in relation to their hubs. With this balance the wheel can again be set to the same position. Loosen the wheel bolts of the car, standing on a support surface. Prepodnimite car and remove a wheel.
2. Check the thickness of the brake discs.
	3. Measure the thickness of the friction brake linings (no back plate) using calipers. Limit wear of friction linings of disc brakes on the front and rear axle is achieved when the friction pad without the back plate has a thickness of only 2 mm. In this case, always replace all four friction linings of the bridge.
A warning According to a simple rule, at the front disc brakes 1 mm brake lining corresponds to the range of at least 1,000 km. This rule applies even if the operation of the vehicle under adverse conditions. Normally, the friction linings can withstand much greater. When the thickness of the friction linings of disc brakes in 5.0 mm (no back plate), the suitability of the residual friction brake linings therefore still is at least 3,000 kilometers.
4. Push the wheel so as to coincide mark put at dismantling. Pre lightly grease with grease for rolling bearings centering slot on the hub of the wheel rim. Screw the wheel. The car is lower and tight tighten the wheel bolts crosswise with a torque of 110 Nm
