Gasoline 8-cylinder V-engines E 420, E 430, E 50 AMG and E 55 AMG
The injection system 8-cylinder V-engine of 4.2 liters has been adapted by the control system HFM (Fig. 1.16). Control Functions injection and ignition are now integrated in the engine control unit Motronic 1.0. The electronic control system of the new automatic transmission, which from the beginning of production is equipped with the E 420 model, combined with the engine management system. Model E 430 was replaced by the E 420. The new 4.3-liter refers to a series of engines M 113. It was developed in conjunction with the V-shaped 6-cylinder M Series 112 engines E 420 and E 430 are of the same innovative solutions 3 valve per cylinder, two spark plugs per cylinder, the cylinder liner with a low coefficient of friction. Units are manufactured at the plant engines in Bad Cannstatt. In January 1996, range E-Class has been expanded version of the sports E 50 AMG. This 8-cylinder V-engine cylinder capacity of 5 liters and 347 hp, built studio AMG based on the engine capacity of 4.2 liters. Subsequently, the E 50 AMG model was replaced by the E 55 AMG engine displacement of 5.5 liters and 354 hp, 113 belonging to the M-Series.
