Clutch Wear

Each time the clutch due to friction occurring is some wear clutch facings. Clutch disc, thus applies to wear parts, but the average service life corresponds to the range of more than 100 000 km. The term wear of the driven disk is mainly dependent on the load (e.g., when transporting the trailer) and character of the motion. Maintenance clutch is not carried out, since it is self-regulated.

Technical Dictionary
Work clutch
Clearance clutch. When the clutch pedal is pressed, the gap in the clutch allows the clutch to deliver on a constant load. This clearance becomes smaller when worn friction linings (backlash pedal, on the contrary, becomes larger).
Clutch. When you press the clutch pedal to the master cylinder pressure increases. It is transmitted to the operating cylinder, located on the gearbox, wherein the rod of the working cylinder extends and drives the clutch via clutch release lever. The bearing is moved in the direction of pressure plate presses onto the ends of the petals of the diaphragm spring and pressure plate working surface extends from the driven disc. Driven disc while spinning freely between the flywheel and the working surface of the pressure plate.
Clutch. When you release the clutch pedal onto the diaphragm spring straightened, and the pressure plate firmly presses the driven plate to the flywheel.

PRACTICAL ADVICE
Out clutch failure
Start the car at high engine speeds (starting from slipping) or 2nd gear wears out much friction clutch linings.
If you leave while moving his foot on the clutch pedal, is its slow constant wear. That's a long time not survive even the best clutch linings. Bad for durability and traction as a habit to keep the car on lifting the accelerator pedal and clutch.
If you are standing on a red light car you always turn 1st gear and hold the clutch pedal is depressed, it also leads to deterioration of adhesion. In this case, a strong burden falls on the clutch and the ends of the petals of the diaphragm spring. Therefore, release the clutch pedal while the red light is lit, and turn the 1st gear on a yellow light.
