Substitution coolant
A WARNING When the engine is hot can cause burns. |
"120 000 km every 4 years" 1. Carefully remove the reservoir tank cover. 2. Drain the excess pressure of the cooling system. 3. The heating controller on the dashboard put on ?Heiss? (hot). This opens the cooling circuit of the heating installation. 4. Remove the protection crankcase.

5. Place a receptacle under the radiator and the engine at the bottom of the radiator, unscrew the drain plug (Fig. 4.45), and drain the coolant. On the union side put on a short hose (inner diameter - 12mm) to direct the liquid into the container. 6. Attach the hose (inner diameter - 14 mm) on the drain fitting on the engine block to the right and open it. 7. Remove the cap from the expansion tank. 8. Drain the coolant and close the receptacle. 9. Replace the cap on the engine block and the radiator. 10. Slowly pour the coolant through the neck of the Gulf on the expansion tank to the marking. 11. Start the engine and let it run at high speed about 2 minutes. At the same time constantly top up the expansion tank with coolant. 12. Close the expansion tank cap. 13. Leave the engine running until the moment when the fan turns on. 14. Stop the engine. 15. If necessary, add coolant to marking. 16. Warm up the engine. This cooling system will go through the expansion tank cap. On the cold engine again, check the coolant level. If necessary, add a little water. 17. Put the protection crankcase into place. Gulf Antifreeze If you want to check the antifreeze content of the coolant, you need a hydrometer, which measures the specific gravity (density) of the liquid.
A WARNING Daimler-Benz allows you to use only self-made antifreeze. If faults have arisen because of the use of anti-freeze from other manufacturers, the warranty expires. Do not add more than 50% antifreeze to improve the frost resistance of a cooling liquid, this will adversely affect its cooling properties. If you do not have a special antifreeze hydrometer of ordinary hydrometer average measured value is subtracted 2 ... 3 ? C. |
1. Remove the protection crankcase. 2. Place a receptacle under the radiator and the engine.

3. Collect the coolant from the expansion tank and remove the drain plug on the radiator and pour about 1-2 liters of liquid (Fig. 4.46). 4. Add the required amount of coolant in the expansion tank. If necessary, add the remaining drained.
