The engine capacity of 2.3 liters (index 601)

Booster pump pumping diesel fuel from the tank and feeds through the fuel filter at low pressure in the fuel pump. From him on the high pressure pipe, fuel is supplied to the injectors. There are immediate and split injection (using the settling chamber). On engines of these models uses a system of injection prechamber. It differs in that the fuel is injected into a prechamber, located in the cylinder head and connected to the main combustion chamber. The prechamber ignites the fuel and the process of combustion. The result is a pressure burning fuel enters the main chamber, where the combustion process is completed.
Pump is a piston-type pump. It is located on the left side of the cylinder block and chain driven camshaft drive. For each cylinder of the engine in the pump has a separate section, consisting of a piston and cylinder. The plunger is controlled by the relevant section of the cam. Plunger carefully burnished to the cylinder, therefore provides sealing at high pressures. The lubrication system pump is connected with the engine lubrication system. In connection flange pump cylinder block O-ring set.
The volume of the fuel supply is regulated by a helical groove on the plunger. Depending on the angle of rotation of the plunger to feed more or less fuel. Formed by the action of the plunger pump pressure of the fuel injector needle lifts and opens the injection hole. Through a nozzle atomized fuel injected into the precombustion chamber. At the time when the spiral groove of the plunger opens truboprovda reverse channel, the pressure drops and the injector needle spring force drops.
On the back of the pump is a pump control mechanism is a system of levers and springs and centrifugal regulator at the rear end of the camshaft of the pump. The diaphragm mechanism stopping the engine, membrane mechanism for increasing the number of turns of idling (if installed) and the stop lever accordingly affect the operation of the regulator. The controller controls the position of rail injection pump, thus controlling the supply of fuel. To supply the fuel from the tank to the booster pump is used a piston pump with a mechanical drive. Booster pump does not have a manual pumping, as it was in previous editions of diesel engines.
