Removal and installation of chain tensioner shoe

The mechanism of the camshaft drive assembly
Fig. 96. The mechanism of the camshaft drive assembly: 1 - the crankshaft sprocket; 2 - tensioning shoe chain; 3 - chain tensioner; 4 - star camshaft drive; 5 - pacifier chain; 6 - sprocket drive of the fuel pump; 7 - pacifier chain; 8 - the lever of the chain tensioning drive of the oil pump; 9 - the oil pump drive sprocket

a. The mechanism of chain tensioning camshaft drive
Fig. 95 a. The mechanism of chain tensioning camshaft drive: 1 - cork; 2 - laying cork; 3 - ball; 4 - spring seat; 5 - compression spring; 6 - finger; 7 - relief valve; 8 - a sealing ring; 9 - ball; 10 - compression spring; 11 - the push rod; 12 - a lock ring; 13 - a bolt of fastening of an asterisk on a camshaft; 14 - a washer bolts on the camshaft sprocket; 15 - a bolt of fastening of an asterisk on a camshaft; 16 - lock circuit; 17 - shoe chain tension; 18 - shoe bearing pin; 19 - chain tensioner gasket to the cylinder head; 20 - chain tensioner

The position of the tension shoe drive circuit shown in Fig. 95 and and 96. To replace the drive chain tensioner shoe is necessary to remove the cylinder head cover and the camshaft drive mechanism. Synthetic cover shoe can not be changed, so you have to change the shoe assembly with wear coating. The process of replacing the chain tensioner shoe should be carried out as follows:
- Remove all parts that constitute an obstacle to the free access to the front of the engine. The battery must be disconnected;
- Remove the cylinder head (see. Sect. 2.4.1);
- Remove the cover of the drive camshaft (see. Sect. 2.5);
- Apply paint marks on the crankshaft sprocket and drive chain;

Labels on the drive sprocket and the camshaft drive chain
Fig. 99. Marks on the drive sprocket and the camshaft drive chain

- To put marks on the camshaft sprocket and timing chain (Fig. 99);

Fixing the camshaft drive sprocket
Fig. 100. Fixing the camshaft drive sprocket

- Unscrew the fixing bolt of the camshaft sprocket drive, pre-capture it from turning. Secure and hold the sprocket from turning, you can use a mandrel (fig. 100);
- Remove the camshaft drive sprocket;
- Tensioning shoe to tilt inward and remove it from the bearing pin;
- Check for wear or damage the synthetic coating and, if necessary, replace the shoe;
- Installation of the shoe to hold out in the reverse order of removal. Tighten the camshaft sprocket drive. Tighten the bolts to hold to 25 Nm and then tighten a further 85-95 ? while holding the camshaft from turning. When installing the drive chain, take care that the labels put paint on the drive chain and both sprockets are aligned.
