Dismantling and assemblage of automatic locking differential

Automatic locking differential

A - Block friction discs driven gear diameter 185 mm

Remove the roller finger 19 and finger 16 by differential drift of the differential housing 13

To all the illustrations:
13 - Differential housing
14 - Spherical washer
15 - Satellites
16 - Finger Differential
17 - gear drive shafts
19 - Roller finger
22 - Friction brake disk on one side
23, 23a - Friction disks without linings
24 - Friction brake disc on both sides

Secure the friction discs in the correct order on both pinion drive shafts 17

17 - Drive gear drive shaft
22 - Friction brake disk on one side
23, 23a - Friction disks without linings
24 - Friction brake disc on both sides

Automatic locking differential shown in the illustration.

Dismantling

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Secure the differential housing (13).

2. Remove the roller pin (19) and the pin of the differential (16) using a punch of the differential housing (13).

3. Set the punch (046) in the drive gear drive shaft (17).

4. Turn the satellites (15) with spherical washers (14) towards the opening and then remove them.

5. First, remove the right drive gear drive shaft (17) (shown in the mounted position), with the friction disks.

6. Remove the left drive gear drive shaft (17) (from the driven gear) with friction discs.

Assembly

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Secure the friction discs in the correct order on both pinion drive shafts (17) and carefully lubricate the friction discs (22) and (24) of the universal hypoid transmission fluid.

2. First set the left drive gear drive shaft (on the side of the driven gear) with the friction discs, and then set the right drive gear drive shaft (17), friction plates and set a drift (046) drew attention to the fact that the friction disks without linings have ears (arrows).

3. Set the satellites (15) with spherical washers (14) using a drift (046), screw the them as long as they are not located in the differential housing.

4. Place your finger differential via knockout in satellites and spherical washers.
5. Check the friction torque of the differential. It should be 80-160Nm.
6. Install a finger differential (16) and roller pin (19).
7. Remove from the clutches of the differential.
