Adjustment of a backlash in the bearings of the front wheels



PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Mark a paint position relative to the front wheel hub. With this balance the wheel can be easily installed in its place. Loosen the wheel bolts on the car standing on the earth. Then lift the front of the vehicle and remove the front wheel.

2. Replace one wheel bolt into the threaded hole (2) opposite the locking screw (1) and tighten by hand. This you fix the brake disc on the wheel hub.

3. Carefully push the screwdriver disc brake pads from the brake disc.
4. Remove the hub cap (3) using a rubber hammer or puller. To do this, turn the wheel and obstukivayte cap with a hammer so that he fell.

5. Check the bearing clearance, much pulling and pushing on the flange. Before each measurement several times turn the hub.

6. The garage axial clearance in the bearing is measured by the indicator (1) and the holder (2). The display set to 2 mm preload. The required value of the axial clearance: 0.01 - 0.02 mm.

In the process of measuring the rotating wheel hub is not allowed.


Adjustment

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Loosen the screw (1) slotted nuts (2).

2. Tighten the slotted nut while rotating the hub so that the hub could not rotate. Then loosen backwards clamping nut one-third turn and hitting a plastic hammer on the axis of the knuckle (3), remove stress.
3. Repeat the test indicator and, if necessary, re-adjust the gap.
4. The company Mercedes-Benz bearing clearance check carried out by means of the indicator. In practice, the bearing clearance is adjusted correctly if the drive behind the split nut shifts tight, that is required for the application of a certain force. Otherwise, tighten or loosen the slotted nut.
5. Tighten the screw slotted nut 8 Nm and re-check the clearance in the bearing.
6. Fill hub cap high temperature bearing grease. Oil volume of '15
7. Install the hub cap into place with a rubber mallet. Use a suitable pipe to cap seated. Warning: If the cap is deformed, replace it, as it can lead to leakage of ingress of moisture into the bearing, which in turn will reduce the life of the bearing.
8. Remove the bolt from the hub of the brake disc.
9. Install the front wheel into place so that coincided earlier put labels. Screw the wheel bolts. Lower the car on wheels and tighten bolts cross-wise the moment of 110 Nm.
10. Repeatedly press the brake pedal to the brake pads have been established.
