Removal and installation of an engine block heater (with appropriate equipment)



Details of the installation of the engine block heater (models 463.322 / 323, code HP1)

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. On models with code ET2 activate service mode of the emergency call TELE AID (see. Section Activate / deactivate the service mode of the emergency call AID TELE).
  2. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  3. Poddomkratte car and establish it on props.
  4. Remove protection crankcase.
  5. Turn the cover to the first stop of the cooling system, relieve residual pressure in the cooling path.
  6. Drain the cooling system (see chap. Current care and maintenance).
  7. Remove the auxiliary heater (see. Section Removal and installation of auxiliary heater circulation pump STH (with appropriate equipment)).
  8. Remove the diffuser (see chap. Power supply system and exhaust).
  9. Release the connector (1) from spring retainer (2), then remove the cover (3).
  10. In order to release the wiring harness (4) release the band heater (5) and remove the clamp (6) to the support bracket (7), - shroud must be replaced without fail.
  11. Remove the heater assembly (8), - Prepare the replacement O-ring.
  12. Installation is in the reverse order.
  13. If necessary, top up with fresh liquid to the reservoir and pump power steering hydraulic power assisted steering path.
  14. Remove air from the path of the cooling system (see chap. Current leaving and service), and check the corresponding components for signs of leaks.
  15. On models with code ET2 deactivate service mode of TELE AID (see. Section Activate / deactivate the service mode of the emergency call AID TELE).
  16. Finally, clean the processor memory on-board self-diagnostic system (see chap. Systems of an electric motor).
