Troubleshooting - General Information



When a fault is detected automatic transmission, first check the level of ATF (see chap. Current care and maintenance). If the level is not sufficient, check the appropriate seals. Carefully inspect all hoses tract ATF, as well as the transmission fluid cooler and check for signs of leakage. The only thing that can still be done by the owner of the vehicle, is to check / replacement information sensor management system AT - before starting to replace the suspect sensor, make a survey of the control module memory - all of any significant faults recorded in the memory module in the form codes DTC, and particularly serious cases, TCM will automatically switch AT emergency mode operation. Read the DTC is made using a special diagnostic equipment are connected to the system board self-diagnostics (DTC) (see chap. Systems of an electric motor). In the absence of access to the necessary instruments will be enough to at least try to qualitatively determine the nature of the fault (at the level of: electrical / mechanical) in order to facilitate communication with the service specialist.
