Checking the accessory drive belt and adjust its tension

Check

Wear of the rib edges of the drive belt

Transverse cracks (D) from the back side of the belt and peeling of edges (E)

Razlohmachivanie lateral edges (F), a crack (H) and detachment of the side edges (G)

Separation ribs (J), a crack (K)

The tension of the drive belt (V or multirebristogo) is adjusted automatically, but should be checked periodically with the state of the belt.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Fingers walk the entire length of the belt, feeling it for cracks and bundles. Also check to see if the belt zapolirovat scuffs and polished sections. The belt should be inspected on both sides, which implies the need to twist it. Along the way, check for rust, cracks and burrs on pulleys. On the working surface of the belt may be the presence of shallow perpendicular cracks. If these cracks do not extend beyond one edge and not very deep, there is no need to replace the belt.
  2. Make sure the correct position of the belt on the pulleys.
  3. If necessary, replace the drive belt (see chap. Engine).
  4. Checking the tension is made by means of a special device at the locations specified in the illustrations in the Specifications.

Tension adjustment

Adjustable belt tension

W / P - Water Pump
I / P - The intermediate roller
C / P - Crankshaft
ALT - Generator

A / C - Compressor K / V
1.3 - Locknut
2.4 - Adjusting bolt

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Adjust the belt tension is made by means of an adjusting bolt tensioner.
  2. Remove right wheel arch locker and give intermediate pulley locknut.
  3. Tighten the lock nut by hand and release it half a turn clockwise.
  4. Adjust the belt tension (see. Specifications) by turning the adjusting bolt tensioner.
  5. Tighten the lock nut with a force of 24.5 ÷ 31.4 N ??? m.
  6. Rotate the crankshaft 2 turns in a clockwise direction, and recheck the belt tension
