Replacing the motor oil and oil filter

Prolonged skin contact with used motor oil is dangerous. Use a sunscreen or wear rubber gloves during the procedure described below.

Frequent replacement of motor oil is the main preventive maintenance procedures available amateur mechanics. Over time, the oil is subject to dilution and contamination, leading to premature wear.

Descent motor oil

Engine oil can be pumped out using a probe through the probe guide tube.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Warm up the engine to operating temperature of the coolant.
  2. Poddomkratte car and establish it on props or pound on a viewing hole.
  3. Remove the filler cap and place a container under the drain plug of a suitable volume to collect waste oil.
  4. Remove from the oil pan drain plug and allow the oil to drain completely.

Not to burn your hands warmed escaping oil!

  1. Check the condition of the used oil. If it contains a large amount of metal shavings, and wear debris, which indicates the presence of burrs, for example, in bearings of the crankshaft and connecting rod bearings. To eliminate damage after repairs should be thoroughly cleaned oil channels and hoses, as well as with appropriate equipment, replace oil cooler.
  1. Clean the drain plug and replace it with a new sealing ring in the oil pan. Tighten the drain plug with a force of 29.4 ÷ 39.2 N ??? m and lower the car to the ground.

O-ring drain plug installed according to the illustration.

Changing the oil filter

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the oil filter with a special key.

You can also unscrew the filter, pierced his sharp screwdriver.

  1. Wipe the leaked oil, clean the filter flange on the cylinder block and remove the remains of a seal.
  2. Grease with a thin layer of pure motor oil rubber sealing ring of the new oil filter.
  3. Screw the new filter by hand. Once the O-ring pressed against the cylinder block, tighten the filter an additional 2/3 turn (120 deg.). The final effort of a tightening of the oil filter is 14.7 ÷ 20.5 N ??? m. Note the indication on the filter housing.

Filling the engine oil

For replacements, use oil of the same type and, if possible, the same brand. It is recommended with every oil change on the engine to fix a label indicating brand and viscosity of the oil. Motor oil of the same type and the same brand but different viscosity can be filled during the appropriate time of year. Before filling the oil of another brand lubrication system should be flushed.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Fill with engine oil (see. Section Check of levels of liquids, the control of leaks) of approximately half a liter less than that indicated in the Specifications.
  2. Start the engine and let it idle for checking the meantime leaks motor oil. Pay particular attention to the filter and drain plug.
  3. Wait 5 minutes, then check the oil level and correct it if necessary.
  4. Test-drive the vehicle and recheck the oil drain plug and oil filter for leaks. If necessary, lightly tighten them. Recheck the oil level, correct it if necessary.
