Heating, ventilation and air conditioning

general information

Description of the systems

Description control ventilation system with heater and A / C service is provided in chapter Controls and operation receptions.

The coolant heated by the engine passes through the heat exchanger, giving heat to the air passing therethrough. The air supply is adjusted in the interior shutters. If you turn on the heater fan, air is supplied to the interior is more intense. The fan speed can be adjusted. When the valve is closed coolant flows through the small loop back into the circuit of the engine radiator.

Before you get into the room, the air passes through the filter, where the major share of dust settles. Observe the filter change intervals, because blocked with dust filter restricts the flow of air, resulting in stagnation of the air inside the cabin.

Distribution of air ventilation system is also carried out by dampers. On all models, a mode of air circulation.

The air conditioning system (A / B) is set as an option.

Work with the system K / V should be carried out in a specialized workshop. Do not open the refrigerant circuit, as in contact with skin refrigerant can cause frostbite.

With the help of K / V of the interior air temperature can be reduced relative to ambient temperature. Additionally, when the system is K / V decreases the humidity in the cabin.

The system circulates refrigerant R134a, which depending on the temperature and the pressure may be in liquid or gaseous state. Schematic flow of refrigerant is shown in the illustration below.

Conditioning compressor driven by a belt from the crankshaft of the engine and generates a pressure in the refrigerant circuit, which is a gas. When the refrigerant is heated. In the condenser the refrigerant is cooled by external air. Consequently, the heated refrigerant into the liquid phase. Then, high-pressure refrigerant is passed through an expansion valve, whereby the pressure of the refrigerant drops. Thereafter, the refrigerant evaporates in the circuit, while strongly cooled. In the evaporator, the refrigerant extracts heat from the blown air therethrough. Consequently, the air is cooled and fed into the vehicle interior. By heating the refrigerant in the evaporator and turns into a gas at low pressure enters the compressor and then circulating process is repeated.

For borrowing the normal pressure in K / V is the refrigerant pressure sensor, which stops the compressor if the pressure exceeds 27.9 atm or falls below 1.4 atm.

Location system components K /

Additional information about the system K / V is indicated on the nameplate attached to the hood.

For lubrication system components K / refrigerant oil is used, which circulates in the system with the refrigerant. After replacing any system component K / V, and upon detection of a leak in the system should add the oil (see. Section Adjustment refrigerant level).

Some of considered cars can be equipped with an automatic system of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning. Description of the system is shown in chapter Controls and operation receptions.

Safety measures for maintenance of the system K / V

System Maintenance K / V should be entrusted exclusively trained technical personnel trained in safe work with proper equipment and in compliance with the rules of depressurization, and are familiar with the methods of collection and storage of automotive refrigerant.

  • Avoid contact with skin refrigerant;
  • When working near the system K / V Wear safety glasses;
  • After contact with the refrigerant to the skin or eyes, do not rub the affected area. Immediately flush the affected area with cold water for at least 15 minutes, and seek professional medical help. Self-medication is not permitted;
  • Refrigerant is stored in cylinders under pressure. Keep the bottle at a temperature no higher than 50 degrees. Take measures to avoid the fall of the balloon from a height or other situations that could cause damage;
  • Work should be done in a well-ventilated area. The refrigerant evaporates, resulting in a reduction of oxygen and shortness of breath;
  • Refrigerant gas is heavier than air and relatively quickly should gather below, for example, under the car;
  • On combustion, forms toxic gas refrigerant. Keep refrigerant away from open sources of fire. Do not smoke when working with the system K / V;
  • When carrying out welding work near the system K / V or expose it to heat or flame. Overheating can lead to increased pressure in the system and ignition;
  • Cleaning of the condenser or evaporator using steam is not allowed. Use only cold water or compressed air.
