Service master cylinder



Refitting

Withdrawal

Location clutch master cylinder on models 4.2 l


PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Cover with protective covers front right mudguard.
  2. Disconnect the hydraulic pipe from the master cylinder. Zakuporte end of the tube and the hole in the cylinder to prevent the ingress of dirt into the hydraulic system and to minimize fluid loss.
  3. On l models 3.0 disconnect the clutch pedal pusher of the main cylinder.
  4. Give fixing nuts and remove the master cylinder from the car. Try to avoid contact with the hydraulic fluid on the painted surfaces of the body.

After contact with the hydraulic fluid on the paintwork wash immediately with plenty of water, then allow the surface to dry naturally - DO NOT wipe it with a cloth.

Setting

Installation is in the reverse order.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Nuts tighten with demanded effort.
  2. Bleed the hydraulic system.

Dismantling

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. After removing the master cylinder, remove the hydraulic fluid from its tank.
  2. Loosen the clamp and separate the reservoir from the master cylinder.
  3. Detach the rubber cover from the end of the master cylinder.
  4. Remove the end of the cylinder retaining ring, then (according to specification) Remove the plunger, a washer and a rubber cover.
  5. Remove the cylinder piston assembly with a spring (see. Accompanying illustration - shows the components of the master cylinder 4.2 liter models).

Cleaning and checking the status of

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Rinse all the components of the master cylinder with methyl alcohol.

In no case do not use for this purpose gasoline or mineral spirits.

  1. Check the cylinder bore for wear and corrosion, in case of need make replacement.

Honing clutch master cylinder is not allowed. If any major defects should be replaced by a mirror cylinder assembly.

  1. Check the piston assembly for signs of wear, scratching, scuffing and corrosion. Pay special attention to the cuffs of the piston. If necessary, replace.
  2. With the appropriate equipment, check for signs of wear or damage the plunger and washer. Replace defective components.
  3. Check the hydraulic fluid reservoir for cracks and other defects. If necessary, replace.
  4. Check the condition of the clamp securing the reservoir. Replace if necessary.

Assembly

Where possible, make sure to use special remnabory, including in its membership a new cuff and piston. The use of such signature sets will significantly extend the life of the unit.


PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Grease with special greasing (for rubber components) cuff piston and the cylinder bore, with appropriate equipment, a rubber cover.
  2. Set of piston assembly with the spring cylinder. On models 4.2 l Install a washer and a new lock ring.
  3. On models 3.0 l Verify that the plunger rubber boot, then install and secure a new lock ring pusher hockey. Pull the protective cover on the cylinder body.
  4. Replace the master cylinder reservoir and secure it with a clamp.
  5. Fill the tank with fresh hydraulic fluid, then shook the piston by hand until the liquid in the hole for the installation of the hydraulic pipe on the cylinder body.
  6. Install the master cylinder to the vehicle.
