1. Check all plug connections of engine, check for signs of oil leaks, or coolant from under the gaskets and seals. Particular attention should be paid to places around the cylinder head gasket, cylinder head cover, oil pump and oil pan. Keep in mind that allowed very weak leak from under the pads that develop over a long period of time, and that shall be subject only to the discovery of traces of significant leaks. Upon detection of leaks, replace the appropriate gasket or oil seal, to the relevant chapters and sections of the description.
2. Check the reliability and condition of fixing pipes and hoses of the engine. Ensure that the fixing wiring, the presence of all clamps, clips and brackets. Damage to or loss of the details of installation leads to chafing of wires and hoses and severe damage in the future.
3. Carefully check the radiator and heater hoses along their entire length. If you find blisters, cracks or mechanical damage, replace the hoses. Cracks on the hose more visible when it kinking. Pay special attention to collars which attach hoses to the details of the cooling system. Upon compression of the hose clamp can tear of the hose and coolant leaks develop. All belt clips or clamps with tightening the locking pin, it is desirable to replace the worm-screw clamps.
4. Check for signs of leakage at all the details of the cooling system (including the hoses, plug connections, etc..).
5. If you find such traces on the parts of the cooling system, replace this part or gasket.
6. On vehicles with automatic transmission, check the condition of hoses, transmission fluid cooler.
7. Lift the car and check the fuel tank and the filler neck, the presence of these dents, cracks and other damage. Be particularly careful to check the tube connecting the throat to the fuel tank. Sometimes the flow from the neck or tube develops due to easing of collars or deterioration of the rubber.
8. Carefully check all rubber hoses and metal pipes connected to the fuel tank. Check for loose connections, damaged pipes, compression hoses and other damages. Pay special attention to the ventilation pipes and hoses, which are often wrapped neck and clamped or clogged. Track condition of hoses along their entire length, to the front of the car. Replace damaged sections of pipelines. Check all pipes and hoses hydraulic brakes.
9. In the engine compartment, check reliability of fastening of fuel hoses and fittings, check for kinks in the hose, traces of abrasion, cracking and hardening.
