Troubleshooting

The following are guidelines for troubleshooting and breakdowns that occur most often on the road. For more information about how to troubleshoot problems given in the relevant chapters.

If the engine is not started and the starter does not rotate

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. If the car is equipped with an automatic transmission, make sure that the selector lever is in position "P" or "N".
2. Make sure the battery poles clean and loose terminals.
3. Turn on the headlights and try to start the engine. If you run the engine lights burn very dimly, the most likely cause of failure of starting the engine is flat battery. Start the engine from the battery of another vehicle (see. Subsection 1.12.1).

If the engine does not start when the starter is running normally

The locations of the connectors of the fuel and ignition systems

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check if there is fuel in the tank.
2. Check for moisture on electrical components and devices of the engine.
3. Turn the ignition off and wipe the pockets of moisture with a dry cloth. Apply water repellent aerosol means (WD-40 or equivalent) connector on the fuel and ignition systems (A, B, C, D) (see. Fig. The locations of the connectors of the fuel and ignition systems). Especially check carefully the low voltage connector of the ignition coil and high-voltage wires.
4. Check the connection of high-voltage spark plug wire (A) by pushing the tip of the wire.
5. Check the connection of high-voltage wires on a cover of the distributor of ignition (B), the connector is mounted on the valve.
6. Check the connection of high-voltage wires on the ignition coil (C).
7. Check the connection of electric sockets (D) (with ignition off). If there is a suspicion of moisture, treat with water-repellent aerosol means WD-40.
