Replacing the brake pads in the brakes of type Girling

Front brake type Girling

1 - the insulation;
2 - cylinder body;
3 - air vent;
4 - cap;
5 - a bolt;
6 - a bolt;
7 - the plug;
8 - the guide rod;
9 - a bolt;
10 - a bolt;
11 - Caliper;
12 - knuckle;
13 - a bolt;

14 - the wheel speed sensor (only on models with ABS);
15 - a protective casing;
16 - a rotor wheel speed sensor (only on models with ABS);

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Run 1-6 subsection 10.7.

2. Remove the bottom bolt 5 (see. Fig. Brake front wheel type Girling) fixing the housing 2 of the cylinder to the caliper 11.

3. Loosen the top bolt of fastening of the case 9 2 cylinder to the caliper 11.

4. Turn up the cylinder body 2.

5. Remove the brake pads 21 and 22.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Clean the brake pads and seats.

2. Check the thickness of the brake pads with pads (see values. Subsection 10.1).

3. Check the brake disc (see. Subsection 10.7).

4. Check the protective cover of the piston. Damaged cap replaced.

5. Check fastening the insulation 1 piston.

6. Install the brake pads 21 and 22 in a support 11, watching that press springs stood vertically and parallel to the upper edge of the brake pad.

7. Turn down the cylinder body and set it in place.

8. Tighten the screws 5 to 35 Nm.

9. Remove the bolt 9 and replace the protective sleeve 7 of the guide rod 8.

10. Tighten the screws 9 to 35 Nm while holding the guide rod 8.

11. Bleed brake system.
