The wheel cylinder



The wheel cylinder of the drum brake

1, 8 - protective caps;
2, 7 - pistons;
3, 6 - cuff;
4 - spring;
5 - the case;
9 - cap;
10 - air vent

Replacement brake wheel cylinder sleeves


A warning

Replace the brake wheel cylinder sleeves in the visible streaks make brake fluid without removing the cylinder from the car.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the drum and the brake pads (see. Subpart 10.10).
2. Clamp the brake hoses.
3. Unscrew the valve 10 (see. Fig. The wheel cylinder of the drum brake) venting.
4. Remove with a screwdriver protective caps 1 and 8.
5. Remove the cylinder from the housing 5 two pistons 2 and 7 with the brake sleeves 3 and 6 and the spring 4.
6. Rinse with water and detergent, and all the details of the cylinder and to dry them.
7. Inspect the working surfaces of pistons and cylinders.

A warning

At presence on working surfaces of the piston and cylinder for wear, nicks, and jamming to replace the wheel cylinder set.


8. Wear on the pistons 2 and 7 new protective caps 1 and 8, having greased with their brake fluid.
9. Wear on the pistons 2 and 7 new brake cuff 3 and 6 in the groove on the piston, having greased with their brake fluid, and the sealing lips must be directed into the cylinder.
10. Insert the pistons 2 and 7 by a spring 4. The body 5 of the wheel cylinder.
11. Insert the edge of the protective caps 1 and 8 in the correct position on the body 5 of the wheel cylinder.
12. Install the brake pads and the drum (see. Subpart 10.10).

Removing the wheel cylinder

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the brake drum (see. Pp. 1-7 subsection 10.10).
2. Clamp the brake hoses.
3. Unscrew the valve 10 venting.
4. Remove the tip of the brake hose from the wheel cylinder.
5. Remove the screws 26 (see. Fig. Rear drum brake) mounting the wheel cylinder 19.
6. Pull lightly on the brake pads with a screwdriver and remove the wheel cylinder.

Install the wheel cylinder

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Install the wheel cylinder 19 and the bolts 26.
2. Push the brake pads in place.
3. Loosen the valve 10 (see. Fig. The wheel cylinder of the drum brake) air discharge when installing a new wheel cylinder.
4. Place the tip of the brake hose on the wheel cylinder and fix it.
5. Remove the clip from the brake hose.
6. Wait until the brake fluid flows out of the holes in the wheel cylinder for air release valve and tighten the vent valve.
7. Install the brake drum (see. Pp. 13-18 subsection 10.10).
