Fuel (petrol engines)

Cars with catalytic converter

Engines 74 kW, 92 kW, 110 kW (1.8 L) and 110 kW (2.3 L)

Petrol super unleaded 95 octane unleaded normal or gasoline with an octane rating of at least 91.

When using normal unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 indicated a slight decrease in power.

Engine 142 kW

Petrol super unleaded 98 RON.

Perhaps without any restrictions the use of super unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 95.

Due to the device automatic spark timing depending on the quality of gasoline (anti-knock control) may under adverse conditions, exploitation of some reduction in engine power. This can be partially remedied by the use of unleaded petrol "super" with an octane rating of 98.

Cars without catalytic converter

The motors 74 and 92 kW

Petrol unleaded or leaded Suler 95 octane unleaded normal or gasoline or leaded octane not less than 91. The use of a normal gasoline leads to a slight decrease in engine power.

If you are at your disposal there is only fuel with a lower octane number than that required for the engine, it is necessary to carry out the movement of the vehicle only with the average engine speed and reduced engine load.

A warning

Large motor load due to the full pressing the accelerator pedal may damage the engine.

As soon as it will be possible, you should immediately top up the fuel tank with enough gasoline octane.

You can unlimited use gasoline with a higher octane number than that required for the engine. However, this does not give any gain in engine output audio or in fuel consumption.

A warning

Vehicles fitted with catalytic converter should only be operated with unleaded petrol.

Only one tank filling with leaded petrol leads to a subsequent decrease in the efficiency of the catalytic converter.

In the interests of environmental protection, and also vehicles which are not equipped with a catalytic converter as possible to fill with unleaded petrol.

Gasoline additive

Smoothness, power and durability of the engine to a great extent determined by the quality of fuel. Of particular importance here are mixed into the fuel additives (supplements). Therefore it is recommended to fill the car only a high-quality gasoline with additives.

If you are at your disposal there is no gasoline, or in the engine there are violations, it is necessary when refueling to mix him the necessary additives. These additives have anticorrosive purified part of the fuel system and remove various kinds of engine deposits.

Not all additives available on the market, have proved to be quite effective. Therefore, you should acquire proven additive called "additive original Volkswagen / Audi fuel for petrol engines" in the service enterprise a Volkswagen.

Shunt other gasoline additive should not be.
