Removing and installing oil pan

The oil pan can be removed at a set on the car engine. To remove the oil pan (AAE and Aex engines and motors, manufactured from March 1995), set on the sealing mass, we need a drill with a rotary brush and a plastic scraper.

For removing and installing oil pan, proceed as follows:

- Drain the engine oil;

- Removed from the gearbox right drive shaft. The relevant recommendations see. Sec. 10;

- Remove the protective cover of the belt;

- Disconnect the oil pan. To gain access to some of the bolts in the garage using special head. In her absence, you can use a conventional head;

- Remove the oil pan. If he is "stuck" (first of all it is possible for pallets, compressed sealing compound), do not insert a screwdriver into the gap between the seal faces, and a rubber mallet to knock the edges of the sump to its release. Then, it can be folded down. Remove the seal from the crankcase or oil pan, if any.

When installing the oil pan is necessary to pay attention to the following.

Engines ADX, AEA and AEV

On these engines always apply a new seal, if it has been installed. Do not apply lubricant or sealant to seal the surface of the oil pan or crankcase. Seal set the dry and clean;

- See to it that did not form "wrinkles" when installing seals and oil pan gasket and shifted;

- Tighten the bolts evenly crosswise. Bolts that are on the cover with a cuff on the side of the flywheel, it is very difficult to establish. To these screw bolts are inserted in the head. Bolts tightening torque 15-20 Nm;

- Immediately after tightening the bolts to screw the drain plug and tighten to 30 Nm;

- Install the gearbox dismantled the drive shaft (see. Sec. 10);

- Pour in the engine of 3.5 liters of oil, if the filter is replaced, or 3.0 liters if only the gasket replaced. If there is no measuring vessel, the oil can be poured until it is level on the dipstick reaches the mark ?�MIN?�. Start up the engine and add another 1 liter of oil to the oil level on the dipstick reached tag ?�MAX?�. In no case do not spill the oil;

- After replacing the seal the oil pan is recommended to make a test drive and check for leaks. So after warming up the engine once again need to put the car on the bottom podmnik and check the tightness of all connections.

Engines and AEE Aex

On these engines and their predecessors with a sealing compound using a sealing compound before removal of the oil pan is necessary to hold a series of preparatory works:

- Treat the surface of the seal housing flat scraper;

- To pick up the oil pan. On it are the ruins of an old sealing mass. However, just scrape it can not, because you can damage the surface of the pallet. Surfaces should be cleaned by using a drill circle fastened therein the rotary brush made of plastic (Fig. 90). If such a brush there, sealing the surface to be cleaned very carefully a plastic spatula. It is important not to damage the sealing surface.

Before installing the oil pan, it is necessary to get a tube of sealing compound. Fixing bolts of the pallet must be done within 5 minutes after applying the sealing compound, so to do the work necessary to properly prepare. You should carefully study the following recommendations for the installation.

To install the tray, do the following:

- Cut the head tube at the top mark. As a result, the diameter of the clipped head will be approximately 3 mm;

- Apply the sealing compound around the circle, as shown in Fig. 91, on the surface of the oil pan, purified from grease and oils. The sealing compound is applied in a thickness of about 3-4 mm from the inner side of bolt holes (locations indicated by arrows);

- Quickly move up the oil pan to the crankcase without moving while the sealing compound. Install the bolts and tighten them;

- Tighten all bolts to the oil pan crosswise torque of 15 Nm;

- Perform all other work after this time in reverse order. Now you can pour the oil into the engine in accordance with the instructions.
