Greasing system
The oil pump is mounted in front of the crankshaft pulley and driven by a chain from the crankshaft mounted on the sprocket. Chain tension is adjusted by moving the pump. Oil pump, oil pan and other parts of the lubrication system can be dismantled on installed on the car engine. Since access to the oil pump is closed toothed timing belt, it is necessary to dismantle the timing belt to allow access to the pump. On some engines production in March 1995 instead of the seals to install sump sealing compound used D176404A2. On engines of cars, production of which began in 1996, all of the oil pan is sealed using a new method. Fig. 89 shows the oil pan with the old seal. The figure shows which parts have to dismantle, to gain access to the oil pump and pump drive chain.
