Removal of suspension springs
To remove the suspension springs do the following:

- Use the tool (Fig. 268), compress the spring; - Loosen the nut at the center of the support bearing. This will simultaneously rotate the piston rod, so it must be held against rotation with the socket wrench VW 524 Hexagon head; - Remove the upper shock absorber bearing. Bearing can vary only in the collection; - Remove the bearing and disposed below the top plate of a spring; - Remove the spring. Springs produced several groups. They are marked with colored bands. When replacing springs used only couples with the same marking. In no case do not use springs from the other models; - Removed from the piston rod of the shock absorber protective cover, and a buffer. Remember, as a rubber buffer is located on the shock absorber, as its top and bottom are not the same; - Check the reliability of the damper. To do this, hold the lower end in a vise, and push the piston rod Push it again. The entire length of the stroke resistance should be the same. If after removing the shock absorber is horizontal, before installing it should hamstring and pump to remove all air. This stock should be slowly removed and re-inserted until the resistance will not be the same. It is necessary to remove all the air.
A warning If necessary, replace the shock absorber (it can be replaced separately) old shock absorbers should be sent to service center for recycling in accordance with the requirements of environmental protection. Donating shock as usual in the scrap can not in any case (it is filled with gas under high pressure). |
