Control of the expansion tank cap and radiator

The cooling system is pressurized. The expansion tank cap has a spring valve which opens at a pressure of 1.3-1.5 atm. With increased pressure boiling point of the fluid exceeds 100 ? C.
For the control cover is necessary to have a special Compression pump. It is screwed onto the cover (Fig. 99) and is actuated to open the valve. This should take place before reaching a specified pressure. If not, replace the reservoir tank cover.

Using the same test pressure pump, it is possible in the same manner to scan the entire cooling system for leaks. For this pump is connected to the expansion tank. The pressure was adjusted to 1.0 atm gauge for checking that the pressure is kept at least 2 minutes. If it does not, then the cooling system is leaking.
