Front and rear 4 (see. Fig. 85) seals the crankshaft must be replaced after each removal of the crankshaft or flange seals. Replacing the seals carried out, usually with the use of special tools with the necessary precautions. Upon detection of oil spills in the locations of seals made to replace them. Replacement seals can be carried out on the engine installed. Withdrawal Removing the crankshaft front oil seal is held in the following order: - Lock the lock crankshaft stationary and turn the transmission; - Remove the bolt shock absorber, which tightened to 450 Nm. On HUNDRED ?Volkswagen? are commonly used for this clamp; - To remove the front oil seal:

- Remove the inside of the A (Fig. 86) of a stripper 3203 approximately three turns (about 4 mm) of the outer part and lock puller in this position adjusting screw B; - Lubricate threaded head of the tool and push it as far as possible in the gland; - Loosen the setscrew B and drive the inner tool part with a uniform pressure, until the radial seal is not squeezed out; - Hold a stripper in a vice and remove the gland forceps. Removing the crankshaft rear oil seal in the following order: - Remove the gearbox, clutch and flywheel;

- Set the lever (Fig. 87) of a stripper 2086 on the crankshaft flange and with its help remove the rear oil seal; - If there is a stripper in 2086, the rear oil seal can be removed with a screwdriver, you will need to make sure that the stuffing box cover is not get damaged; - If the engine is removed, then unscrew the rear oil seal cover and remove it along with the gland. Then beat out the inside of the gland cover. Install the gland on the removed engine When installing oil seal on the removed engine proceed as follows: - Lubricate the working surface and the outer side of the gland engine oil and gently press-fit it into the cover so that the outer surface of the gland completely went inwards. Working with a hammer, be careful not to deform the gland; - Carefully mount the gland with outer seal on the crankshaft and fasten the bolts on the cylinder block. Tighten bolts evenly around the circle. Installing oil seal on the engine When installing the front oil seal to the engine do the following:

- Put the guide sleeve 3266/1 (Fig. 88) on the special tool crankshaft, lubricate the inner and outer sides of the gland with engine oil and put it on the guide sleeve;
- Wear on the guide sleeve 3266/1 the other sleeve the same instrument 3266 (Fig. 89) and tighten the bolt of the crankshaft damper located in the center, as long as the gland is seated in his place; - After setting the front oil seal, remove all parts of the instrument. When installing the rear oil seal on the motor, do the following: - Push with a hammer on the gland cover. Be careful and try not to damage a working edge of the gland;

- 2003/1 device (Fig. 90) or a metal circle with a hole in the center to the edge of the crankshaft bolted into threaded holes clutch pressure plate, evenly tightening both bolts, press-fit the oil seal. After installation of the anterior or posterior gland engine all subsequent assembly work performed in reverse disassembly, depending on whether the replacement of gland was produced.
