The pistons and connecting rods are knocked out of the cylinder upwards hammer handle, after the removal of covers and inserts the connecting rod bearing.
Before performing these studies should observe the following recommendations:

Marking the bottom of the pistons before their removal
Fig. 130. Marking the bottom of the pistons before their removal

- Marking (preferably color) on each piston and the associated connecting rod. It is necessary to specify the number of the cylinder from which the piston and connecting rod have been removed. On the piston it is best to apply the cylinder number and arrow indicating the direction toward the front of the engine at the bottom of the piston (Fig. 130);

- Immediately after the put on the rod and the connecting rod bearing cap side of the cylinder number (see. Fig. 55). This is best done punch (for example, the cylinder ?1 - one punch punch, etc.). The connecting rod and the connecting rod cap must be assembled in such a way that both the molded protrusion are arranged opposite each other (see. Fig. 56);

A warning
Both molded protrusion after installation rod should always be arranged by the crankshaft pulley.

- Mark the bearing shells in accordance with the connecting rod and the connecting rod cap. Also mark the color of the upper and lower bearing shells on their back side;
- If you need to replace the pistons, then immediately after disassembly, measure the length of the piston pin. As experience shows, the size can be different on the new pistons, so be sure to pick up pistons with fingers exactly that length, which were old fingers pistons;
- When ordering new pistons specify car model and year of manufacture;

Sectional view of the piston
Fig. 131. sectional view of the piston: a = 21,3 mm; b = 5.0 mm; c = 62.9 mm; d = 21,0 mm

- Geometric dimensions pistons differ, however if the piston is set, for example from an old engine, it is necessary to measure the value b (Fig. 131), which differs depending on the engine. Pistons must have the same value of b. Different pistons there are differences in size and well;
- The diameters of the pistons are shown in Table adjustments and control.
Removal of pistons is performed as follows:
- Remove covers of rods and bushings and beat out the details. If necessary, the oil scraper scrape a deposit on top of the cylinder. To do this, turn the crankshaft slightly to lower the piston further into the cylinder bore. Be careful not to scratch the cylinder scraper;

Remove snap ring piston pin
Fig. 57. Remove snap ring piston pin

- With a sharp object or a small punch (see. Fig. 57), remove the snap rings located on each side of the piston pin. Sections having a hole for the piston pin, facilitates the application of the punch;
- With special tool beat out the piston pin. Upon impact, be careful not to drift jumped and hit the piston;

Removal of the piston ring with a puller
Fig. 58. Remove piston rings with special tool

- Label the piston rings (if they are installed again) and remove them from the bottom of the piston by means of a stripper (see. Fig. 58). You must first remove the upper piston ring;

A warning
In no case did not unclench piston rings too.

Removal of piston rings by the metal strips
Fig. 59. Removal of the piston ring by means of the metal strips

- If the puller piston rings have, it can be inserted under the piston rings of metal strips facing each other (see. Fig. 59). One of the metal strip sheet under lock piston ring to avoid scratching the surface of the piston;

Note
Piston rings gently pull out the piston groove with a small screwdriver, as they are very easy to break.

- Remove the piston rings and hang tags on them with the number of cylinders. When viewed from the piston rings, make sure that on one side there is a mark ?Oben? or "Top". When installing the piston rings, this label must be visible from the bottom of the piston.
