Removal and dismantling

The pistons and connecting rods are knocked out of the cylinder upwards hammer handle, after the removal of covers and inserts the connecting rod bearing.

View of the upper part of the engine. Arrows indicate large recesses for the intake valves, which are differently arranged on the pistons 1 and number 2, number 3 and 4

Put on each piston and the associated cylinder rod the number from which they were removed. The best way to do it, causing the cylinder number in color on the bottom of the piston. Draw an arrow at the bottom of the piston pointing towards the front of the engine. Since the piston can be raised on the contrary, i.e. rotated 180 ?, it should adhere to Fig. 422.

The arrows show cast lugs. Languages bearing shells are arranged on the same side

When removing the piston rod to follow the exact direction of mounting the connecting rod cap and immediately after the removal of the connecting rod and put on the cover of a rod side of the cylinder number. This is best done punch (for example, the cylinder ?1 - one punch punch, etc.). The connecting rods and connecting rod cap must be combined so that both of the cast lugs are arranged opposite each other (Fig. 423). Both protrusion after installation rods must always be located on the side of the intermediate shaft and to indicate to the other side of the engine, where the drive belt.
On one side of the pistons have a cutout for oil cooling nozzles to prevent collision of the nozzles and the pistons at bottom dead center. Pistons must be installed by that party to the injectors.
After removing the connecting rod bearing caps replace the connecting rod bolts.
Mark the bearing pads in accordance with a connecting rod and connecting rod cover. Also mark marker upper and lower bearing shells on their back side.
Remove the connecting rod bearing caps and liners.
Knock out pistons and rods handle plastic hammer inside the cylinder out. If necessary, scrape scraper oil varnish on top of the cylinder, but be careful not to damage the surface of the cylinder at the same time.

Removing the retaining ring with the holes of the piston pin. To do this, use a sharp mandrel

Remove the safety straps and squeeze piston pins. The recess in the bore for the piston pin facilitates the use of the tool so that you can easily remove the safety clips (Fig. 424). Squeeze your finger suitable mandrel.

One by one, remove the bottom of the piston through the piston rings with special tool (Fig. 425). If you plan to reinstall the ring, they should be appropriately labeled. If you do not have a stripper for the piston rings, you can insert a strip of metal rings next to each other. One of the bands is required to enclose a lock ring to avoid scratching (Fig. 426).
