Fuel Pressure Regulator

Upper and lower intake manifold and nearby parts
Fig. 201. The upper and lower parts of the intake manifold and nearby parts: 1 - the upper part of the intake manifold; 2 - The guide wire BH; 3 - O-ring; 4 - the fuel hose; 5 - a hose of return of fuel; 6 - a fuel distribution line; 7 - bolt 10 Nm; 8 - the bottom part of the intake manifold; 9 - installation and replacement; 10 - nozzle; 11 - O-shaped sealing ring; 12 - a bolt, 25 Nm; 13 - Lifting eye; 14 - bracket of the secondary air supply valve; 15 - the valve of secondary air; 16 - a vacuum hose; 17 - plug connector, blue; 18 - clamps; 19 - fuel pressure regulator; 20 - plug connector, black color; 21 - the directing plug; 22 - plug connector, black color; 23 - temperature sensor; 24 - T-fitting; 25 - a vacuum hose to the brake servo

Fuel pressure regulator 19 (Fig. 201) is a membrane and a bypass valve mounted on the end of the fuel distribution manifold 6. regulator diaphragm on one side is pressurized fuel, and on the other side of the pressure regulator spring and the pressure (or vacuum) in the inlet pipe . The function of the regulator is to maintain constant pressure at the nozzle 10.
The fuel pressure regulator through a hose connected to the throttle body and reacts to the pressure drop in the intake pipe. By reducing the pressure in the intake pipe (less throttle) control reduces fuel pressure. Wherein the regulator valve opens and the surplus fuel is drained by return line back to the fuel tank. With increasing engine speed pressure in the intake pipe increases and the regulator increases the fuel pressure.
