Hydraulic tappets
I should say a few words about the hydraulic tappets as improper handling may damage the engine. Sometimes you can still hear the noises from the area of the valve cover, which, however, does not mean that there is some problem. Noise may occur, for example, when you first start the engine after a long period of inactivity, which led to an outflow of oil from the hydraulic tappets and the formation of valve clearance. After a short time the noise will disappear again. If pushers continue to make noise after a certain time, then you need to check their condition in accordance with the guidelines below. When removing pushers should observe the following guidelines:

- Immediately after removing the label the pushers. It is best to mark them with scratches caused on the inner side. To put on this first pusher aligned on two lines of the second pusher, etc. In Fig. 412 shows how the pushers must look after the application of labels to them; - After removal of hydraulic pushers do not install their contact surface facing down; - Replace the plunger completely, since it can not be adjusted or repaired. If the noise valves seems too loud, the pushers can be checked as follows: - Start the engine and let it run for as long as the fan is switched on; - Increase the engine speed to 2500 min-1 and let it run for about 2 minutes; - If the pushers still noisy, the pusher defective can be determined by removing the cylinder head cover, in accordance with the description when disassembling the engine, and rotating the camshaft so that the camshaft cam for checking the pusher faces upwards;

- Press the plunger with a piece of plastic or wood down (Fig. 413). If the gap is greater than 0.1 mm, before the valve to open, the plunger must be replaced.
A warning After installing a new pusher, it is impossible to start the engine after assembly for about 30 minutes, as otherwise the engine may be seriously damaged. |
