Remove the transfer case



Raise the vehicle.
Remove noise insulation under the gearbox.
In the presence of - remove underbody protection under the transfer case.
Remove the rear part of the exhaust system and, if necessary, the catalyst (for the V10 TDI).
Remove the rear driveshaft.
Remove the mounting bolts of the front propeller shaft from the front of the main transmission and transfer case.

If there - clear damper A transfer case (screws B) (Fig. 3.95).
Before dismantling, mark the installation position of the damper to the transfer case. The inscription ?�Top?� should point upwards.
Set the rack for the engine and gearbox VAG 1383 / A with an emphasis gearbox 3282, the adjustment plate 3282/37 for gearbox ?�0AD?� and support elements as follows:
apply the adjusting plate 3282/37 on the palm gearbox 3282 (adjustment plate fits only in one position).
The lever arm to stop transmission soorientiruyte in accordance with the holes in the alignment plate.
Symbols shown on the alignment plate support members necessary, the arrow indicates the direction of movement.

Rack for the engine and gearbox VAG 1383 / A with an emphasis gearbox 3282 set under the gearbox, align adjusting plate parallel to the gearbox, and lean gearbox (Fig. 3.96).
Fix a transmission on the palm transmission 3282 using bolt A.
Remove the bracket from the transmission in the body.
Then remove the bracket from the transmission transfer box console.
Remove the front driveshaft.
Remove the side and bottom mounting bolts transfer case / gearbox.

Disconnect connectors A and B on the motor transfer case (Fig. 3.97).
Lower engine with transmission via rack for the engine and gearbox VAG 1383 / A by approximately 60 mm.
Secure the engine with the gearbox on the body with the help of a clamping device VW 785 / 1B as follows:
Apply the contact surface of the base plate VW 785 / 1B purpose grease.
Replace the washer bearing tarelkuupornuyu 3062. The small diameter of 3062 points to a support plate.

Remove the upper connecting bolts transfer case / gearbox A (Fig. 3.99).
Remove the vent pipe in a transfer case 1 and 2 rasklipsovat it.
Press the transfer case from the gearbox.
Lower the transfer case.
