Troubleshooting brakes

CAUSE
SOLUTION
Too much idle brake pedal
Faulty one brake circuit
Check the tightness of the brake circuits
The brake pedal is squeezed away and springy
The air in the brake system
Bleed the brake system
Too little brake fluid in the expansion tank
Fill with new brake fluid, bleed the air
Blistering occurs most often as a result of severe stress, such as descents in the mountains
Replace brake fluid, bleed the air
The braking effect decreases, the brake pedal is squeezed out to the end
Leaky pipeline
Tighten pipe connections or replace the pipeline
Damaged or cuff main brake cylinder wheel
Replace cuff from the master cylinder to replace the internal parts, if necessary, replace the brake master cylinder
Specially for disk brakes damaged stationary rubber sealing ring
Sort out brake
Poor braking effect despite the strong pressure on the brake pedal
Zamasleny brake linings
Replace the brake pads
Unsuitable or hardened brake pads
Replace brake linings, brake pads set VW
Defective brake booster
Check the brake booster
Specially for disk brakes are worn brake linings
Replace the brake pads
When braking vehicle pulls towards
Tire pressure is not OK
Check and adjust tire pressure
Tires worn unevenly
Replace worn tires
Zamasleny brake linings
Replace the brake pads
The brake pads of different types on a single bridge
Replace the brake pads. Set brake pads VW
Poor contact patch brake linings
Replace the brake pads
Specially for disk brakes of mine contaminated brake (saddles or frames)
Clean the installation site and guide surfaces in the brake mechanism
Corrosion in the brake cylinders
Replace brakes
Uneven wear on the brake linings
Replace the brake pads (on both wheels)
Especially for drum brakes severe stroke in the brake cylinder
Refurbish Brake Cylinder
The brake is activated by itself
Goals scored compensation opening of the master cylinder
Clean the brake master cylinder, replace internal parts in the workshop
Too small gap between the operating rod and the piston of the master cylinder
Check clearance
Brakes heat up during movement
Goals scored compensation opening of the master cylinder
Clean the brake master cylinder, replace internal parts in the workshop
Too small gap between the operating rod and the piston of the master cylinder
Check clearance
Specially for disk brakes scored orifice valve special reference
Clean the brake master cylinder, replace internal parts and replace the brake fluid
Especially for drum brakes weak return springs brake pads
Replace return springs
Brakes rumble
Brake linings do not comply with the above
Replace brake linings, brake pads set VW
Specially for disk brakes: disc brake Fitting zakorrodirovali
Carefully align the disc grinding stone
Side brake disc battle
Bring or replace the brake disc
Especially for drum brakes are worn brake linings
Replace brake linings, brake pads set VW
The brake drum is not a round shape
Machined, if necessary, replace the brake drum
Brake linings do not depart from the brake disc, wheel rotating tightly by hand
Specially for disk brakes: corrosion in the brake cylinders
Sort out brake, replace
Uneven wear on the brake linings
Specially for disk brakes: the brake linings do not comply with the above
Replace brake linings, brake pads set VW
Dirty brake
Clean the surface of the brake
Difficult to move the pistons
Restore the ease of movement of the pistons
Leaky brake system
Check tightness of brake system
The cone-shaped brake lining wear
Specially for disk brakes: the brake disc rotates parallel to the brake mechanism
Check the surfaces of the brake
Corrosion in the brake mechanism
Eliminate pollution
Poor working pistons
Check adjustment pistons (piston ring)
The brakes squeak
Environmental influences (humidity)
No need to remove (if squeaking comes after a long standing machines with strong humidity, but then disappears after the first braking)
Especially length disc brake: brake linings do not comply
Replace brake linings, brake pads set VW
Brake disc brake mechanism not parallel
Check the surfaces of the brake
Contaminated with mines in the brake mechanism
Clean brake shafts
Kinked spring lock brake pads
Replace retaining spring
Elongated spring spacers
Pull spring spacers
Especially for drum brakes: brake pads fitting loosely
Replace the brake pads
Dirty brakes
Clean brake
Too relaxed return springs
Replace return springs
The brakes pulsate
Powered ABS
Elimination does not require
Specially for disk brakes:
side fighting or too large thickness tolerances of the brake disc
Check battle and tolerance, to bring the disk back to normal or replace
Brake disc is not parallel to the brake mechanism
Check the surfaces of the mechanism thermos
Especially for drum brakes: the surfaces of the disk to the brake drum is uneven, bending brake drum
Try to change discs each other; better machined brake drum bolted together with him on a turning wheel
