Check the timing belt

1. In order to facilitate access Remove the air filter (see. "Removing and installing the air filter, intake silencer and air").
3. Inspect the condition of the timing belt. Replace the belt if the examination you will find:
- Any traces of oil on the surface of the belt;
- Signs of wear gear surface, cracks, undercuts, folds and detachment of the fabric from rubber;
- Cracks, creases, recesses or protuberances on the outer surface of the belt;
- Razlohmachivanie or bundle on the end face of the belt.

A WARNING
Belt with traces of engine oil on any surface it is necessary to replace, as the oil is rapidly destroying the tires. The reason for getting oil on the belt (usually as a result of leakage of oil seals crankshaft and camshafts) should be eliminated immediately.

4. Check the belt tension. Correctly tensioned belt should be rotated 90 ? from the efforts of the fingers 15-20 H (1.5-2 kg), applied in the middle between the crankshaft and camshafts. If necessary, adjust the belt tension (see. "Replacing and adjusting the tension of the timing belt and its replacement by a tension roller").
5. Install the parts in reverse order of removal.
