Functioning check, removal and installation of the vacuum brake booster

Assemble the brake servo (shows the model 1994 issue. - Models 1993 Vol., Instead of the locking ring on the finger Bumper applied clip)

Checking operation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Several times Depress the brake pedal with the engine off and make sure that there is no difference in the magnitude of reverse pedal at each pitching.
  2. Depress the pedal and start the engine. If the pedal will fall a bit more, the amplifier is functioning normally.

Leak test

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Start the engine, after a couple of minutes, turn it off. Several times slowly depress the brake pedal. If the pedal falls with every push less, sealing amplifier OK.
  2. Depress the pedal with the engine running, and then stop it without releasing the pedal. If changes in the magnitude of reverse pedal depressed after holding it for 30 seconds does not happen in normal sealing amplifier.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector of the brake pedal stroke sensor.
  1. On models 1993 and 1994 Vol. disunite an electric socket of the gauge brake pedal travel.
  1. Otboltite brake master cylinder from the power vacuum brake booster (Section Removal and installation of the combined valve (regulator)), and gently pull the barrel forward.
  2. Disconnect the vacuum booster vacuum hose inlet pipeline.
  3. Using a flashlight look for the back (facing the pedal) the end of the pushrod. This end of the pusher is attached to the top of the brake pedal with the help of a little finger.
  4. Remove the retaining clip (model 1993 vol.) And the retaining ring with the flat and corrugated washers (model 1994 vol.) And remove the pin from the pusher. Disconnect the electrical connector brake light switch.
  5. Give the four mounting screws and remove the amplifier from the engine compartment bulkhead. The nuts are located under the dashboard, and to facilitate the task should use a flashlight (see.
  6. Take the amplifier from the bulkhead so that the stud fully out of the mounting holes, then remove the amplifier with the brackets and gaskets from the engine compartment.

Setting

Install in reverse order. Nuts of fastening of the amplifier tighten with demanded effort.
