PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  2. Drain the coolant from the radiator and the engine block (Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance).
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly (Head of the Power supply system and exhaust).
  4. Disconnect the fuel hose and vacuum tube equalizer ignition timing.
  5. Remove the cylinder head cover (see section Removing and installing cylinder head cover).
  6. Remove the rocker arms and pushrods (Section Removal, check of a condition and installation of the rockers and bars of pushers).
  7. Otboltite pump bracket hydrostrengthening steering system (if equipped) and set the pump aside without disconnecting from it hoses so that he will not escape from the liquid.
  8. Remove the intake manifold and exhaust manifold (see section Removing and installing intake manifold / exhaust manifold).
  9. Remove the bracket from the cylinder head tension roller drive belt Air conditioning (if equipped).
  10. Loosen the generator drive belt tension and give the generator bracket bolts to the cylinder head.
  11. Disconnect the wiring harness and otboltite air conditioning compressor (if fitted) without disconnecting the line of refrigerated system. Put the compressor side and give the top two bolts from the bracket.
  1. Put the compressor in the direction of a refrigerator connected to it lines - then give the upper bracket bolts (arrows).
  1. Label the spark plug wires, and remove the cover of the distributor together with wires connected to it. Remove the spark plugs (Chapter Settings and maintenance).
  2. Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor, which is located in front of the engine thermostat housing (Chapter cooling systems, heating and air conditioning). Also, disconnect the battery ground wire (on the right side of the engine).
  3. Remove the ignition coil and bracket assembly (Head System of an electric motor).
  4. Liberate from clamps on the passenger side of the cylinder head heater hoses. Give the hose clamps and remove the hoses in front of the road.
  5. Give fixing bolts and remove the head from the engine. If the head "become attached" to the unit, get the lever to the outlet port and gently pry it.

Bolt number 14 (see FIG. can not be completely removed as long as the head is moved forward. Pull up on the bolt as much as it is practicable and fix it in position by wrapping duct tape, then push the head forward and remove the bolt.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Carefully smooth out interfaced surfaces, removing all traces of the old gasket material. Plug cylinders with paper towels to prevent them obranivaniya foreign objects.
  2. Check the head for cracks or breaches the flatness of the mating surface. Information service head, see Chapter Procedures and general overhaul of the engine. With a measuring flatness (rib steel ruler) to the head unit and check them to see if the mating surfaces. If the line between the rib and the surface of the blade passes over the probe thickness of 0.20 mm (range should be pressed against the surface along its entire length), the head / flow should be given to milling. If you are replacing the head, be sure to move it from the old all fixture and so on.
  3. Place a new head gasket on the engine block so that the marked with the word TOR (top) facing up. Should not be used when installing the gasket sealant no.
  4. Wrap (as when removing) Bolt number 14 with adhesive tape and insert it into the head. Establish a head on the block and remove the tape with bolts.
  5. Lubricate the threads of the bolt number 11 Locktite type sealant 592 (or equivalent), then set the head bolts, tighten them by hand.

Head bolts can be reused only once. Therefore, stripping the bolt head, mark them with paint. If you remove the screws have been marked with paint, they should be replaced.

  1. Tighten the bolts in the order shown in the accompanying illustration, subject to the following requirements:
    • Step A - tighten all the bolts (1 to 14) in order to force the stage A (see. Specifications).
    • Step B - tighten all the screws in order to firmly step B (see. Specifications).
    • Step C - Tighten all screws except the number 11 with a force of Step C (see. Specifications).

In step number 11 with bolts tightened with less effort than others (see. Specifications). In no case do not violate this condition!

The procedure for tightening the cylinder head bolts - be sure to lubricate the threads of the bolt number 11 (arrow) sealant type Locktite 592 or equivalent.

  1. The installation of the remaining components of the procedure in the reverse order of removal.
  2. Top up with coolant and run the engine to check its serviceability of functioning and leaks and oil cooler.
