Removal, check of a condition and installation of the oil pump



Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the pan (Section Removal and installation of the oil pan).
  2. Take the two mounting bolts of the oil pump to the engine block.

Fasteners oil pump.

  1. Separate the pump assembly with strainer maslozabornika from the unit.

Checking the Status

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the cover from the pump housing.
  2. Put on the end surface of the gear pump two pieces of the calibrated plastic wire set Plastigage and replace the pump cover, pulling it with a force of 7.9 N ??? m.
  1. Put on the face of the gear pump two pieces of the calibrated plastic wire set Plastigage and replace the cover - removing the cap, measure the width of the flattened sections of the wire on a scale on the kit box.
  1. Remove the lid and measure the width of the flattened sections of the wire on a scale on the kit box. Indications of the scale correspond to the magnitude of the gap between the flattened wire surfaces. In this case, the gap should not exceed the allowable for the Specification values for the corresponding gaps of the oil pump.
  2. With the probe blade type define size of the gap between the gears and the walls of the pump housing. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications.
  1. With the blade of the probe, measure the clearance between the gears and the walls of the pump housing.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. In case of defects, replace the pump. In the absence of certainty in determining the status of the pump as it should be replaced. Do not make attempts to restore the old pump.
  2. Place the pump with a new gasket, having turned the shaft so that the tongue gear engages with a slot on the lower end of the drive rail. The pump should be put into place without effort. In case of resistance, remove the pump and tweak the position of the tongue, place it according to the position of the distributor drive slot.
  3. Install the mounting bolts. Tighten bolts with demanded effort.
  4. Replace the oil pan (Section Removal and installation of the oil pan).
  5. Top up the oil, start the engine and check for leaks.
