Luft steering transmission | PERFORMANCE ORDER |  | Install the front wheels to straight-line motion, gently turn the steering wheel left and right until the occurrence of notable resistance and measure the steering gear backlash. Luft measure the outside diameter of the steering wheel. Backlash: 30 mm |

A warning  If the play exceeds the limit, then crosswise worn universal joints of the steering shaft or steering gear.

A warning The measurements were performed after turning the steering wheel left and right at least 5 times.
|  | 2. Hook the dynamometer for a steering wheel spoke in a place the most remote from the center of the wheel. With the front wheels established for rectilinear movement measure effort, which must be applied to the steering wheel to turn the wheel left and right. Force: 118 N (11 kg) | | 3. If the measured force is greater than the desired value, check the torque to rotate the gears, universal joints of the steering shaft and the absence of jamming rod ends. |
