Safety and general rules adopted in the service component of fuel paths of internal combustion engines

At service of components of the fuel path must adhere to the following general rules:

  • Do not go near the place of work with open fire, do not smoke and do not include any heating appliances! Always keep a fire extinguisher at the ready;
  • Fuel evaporation toxic - makes system maintenance supply in a well-ventilated area;
  • Remember that the path of fuel injection system is constantly under pressure - when you release the choke connectors fuel can escape from the pressure line! Do not forget to wear safety glasses, spilled fuel immediately collect rags;
  • Keep in mind that the fuel pressure at the outlet of the injectors in the diesel engine is about 1100 atmospheres, - do not expose any part of the body under the stream of fuel;
  • To fix the fuel hose connections may apply tract belt clamps and clamping type. After disconnecting the hose clamps should be replaced by belt or worm. Locking locks some clamps require special adaptations - consult with branded SRT KIA.
  • Before removing any components of the fuel path carefully wipe the surface at the interface in order to prevent internal contamination of the system;
  • The removed components install on a clean surface and cover with polyethylene, paper or lint-free cloth;
  • Do not forget to plug the open ends of the choke disconnect connectors fuel path, if possible using for this purpose special plugs;
  • Pay special attention to cleanliness - degrease and carefully wipe all installation components, replacement parts unwrap just before installation;
  • Avoid the use of compressed air at the opening of the fuel system, if possible, try not to move the car;
  • Do not use for sealing the joints of components containing silicone sealants - getting into the engine fuel silicone particles weakly associated with the risk of failure of oxygen sensors;
  • Before removing the fuel tank drain all the fuel out of it - if necessary, use fuel to pump special pump;
  • Before disconnecting mounting tapes securing the fuel tank when removing the last prop up its bottom trolley jack through a wooden lining;
  • Remember that emptied the fuel tank is potentially explosive, and prior to disposal should be mandatory cut into pieces - take action against sparks by using a cutting tool;
  • After installing the fuel tank on the car, start the engine and check the tightness of the respective compounds.
