Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Set the parking brake.
1.6-liter models
3. Remove the cover plate of the motor.
4. Remove the drive belt power steering and air conditioner.
5. Remove the alternator drive belt and unscrew the spark plug.
6. Unscrew the bolts and remove the water pump pulley.
7. Remove the four bolts of the crankshaft pulley and remove the pulley.
8. Remove the center bolt crankshaft sprocket.
9. Remove the thrust flange timing belt.
10. Remove the upper and lower belt covers.
11. Rotate the crankshaft.
12. Align the synchronization marks of the camshaft sprocket (SOHC) and synchronization marks the crankshaft sprocket (SOHC).
13. Check the direction of rotation of the belt.
14. Loosen the belt tensioner and remove the belt.
1.8-liter models
15. Remove the cover plate of the motor.
16. Remove the drive belts for power steering, air conditioner and alternator.
17. Remove the screws and remove water pump pulley.
18. Remove the spark plugs and remove the dipstick.
19. Remove the four bolts of the crankshaft pulley and remove the pulley.
20. Remove the timing belt cover.
21. Remove the crankshaft sprocket bolt.
22. Remove the thrust flange of the belt.
23. Turn the crankshaft to align the synchronization mark Stars crank and camshaft (SOHC).
24. Turn the crankshaft to align the synchronization mark Stars cranked and distributive shaft (1,8 l DOHC).
25. Check the direction of rotation of the belt.
26. Loosen the belt tensioner and remove the belt.
27. If you need to remove the camshaft sprocket to replace the seals, remove the valve, unscrew bolts of sprockets and remove sprockets.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove intermediate pulleys and check their bearings.
2. If the belt has been severely damaged, clean the stars of stuck in them the remnants of the belt.
3. Inspect the belt for cracked or missing teeth. If the belt teeth are cracked or torn, it is likely to seize camshafts or shaft oil or water pumps.
4. If the belt is worn or badly flawed, it is necessary to check the sprocket shaft.
5. If damaged the lateral surface of the belt, check the thrust flange and installation Stars.
6. If necessary, replace a belt and fix the problem.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clean the area of the location of the belt.
2. Establish intermediate pulleys and tensioner pulley.
3. Install the sprocket shaft and tighten the bolts.
4. Align the synchronization mark Stars crank and camshaft (SOHC).
5. Align the synchronization mark Stars cranked and distributive shaft (1,8 l DOHC).
6. Put the belt on the Stars.
1.6-liter models
7. Establish a persistent flange of a belt and sprocket bolt crankshaft.
8. Turn the crankshaft two complete revolutions and combine the synchronization mark.
9. Check that the camshaft sprocket marks are correctly aligned with the marks on the cylinder head.
10. Loosen the tensioner pulley bolt to the belt taut.
11. Tighten the tensioner pulley bolt.
12. Rotate the crankshaft two full turns and align the synchronization mark.
13. Check belt tension by pushing the belt hand between the sprockets of the crankshaft and camshaft. The belt should deflect approximately 13 mm, but not less than 11 mm.
14. If necessary, re-adjust the belt tension.
15. Tighten the crankshaft sprocket.
16. Install the remaining parts. Check the operation of the engine.
1.8-liter models
17. Slide the thrust flange of the belt and the crankshaft sprocket.
18. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise 1 and 5/6 turn and align the synchronization mark crankshaft sprocket Tagged with tension setting, located on the cylinder block.
1. Approximately 60 ?
2. Mark the installation tension
19. Loosen the tensioner pulley bolt to the belt taut.
20. Tighten the bolt.
21. Rotate the crankshaft 2 and 1/6 of a turn and align the synchronization mark Stars distributive and cranked shaft.
22. Check the tension of the belt (1,8 l DOHC). For the 1.8 l 9,5-11,1 mm.
23. If necessary, re-adjust the belt tension.
24. Tighten the crankshaft sprocket.
25. Install the remaining parts. Check the operation of the engine.
