Removing the crankshaft

The sequence block unscrewing bolts caps (6-cylinder)

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before removing the crankshaft, measure its free stroke using a special device or with the help of the probe near the thrust bearing. If the gap is more than is required, inspect the thrust bearing half-rings for wear if half rings are not worn out, it is necessary to establish new to adjust the clearance.
2. Main bearing caps shall be numbered in ascending order from the front cover to the back if it is not, number them. Generally the cap has at hand, which is directed towards the front of the engine. Loosen cap bolts in stages to 1/4 turn. The six-cylinder engines unscrew bolts unit caps in sequence.
3. Remove the cover and remove the bearing shells.
4. Remove the crankshaft.
