Removing and installing engine



If you remove the engine for the first time you need to prepare for that room, preferably equipped with a lift. You will need an assistant, ideally someone with specific knowledge and expertise. It is also necessary to prepare all the necessary tools and observe all necessary precautions during this difficult procedure.

A warning

It is recommended to remove the engine together with the gearbox, and only then disconnect the transmission from the engine.

The models described in this manual are equipped with air bags. Before starting work, be sure to disconnect system of air cushions to avoid their sudden disclosure.

When you work with elements of fuel system observe fire safety rules.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Drain the fuel system pressure.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
3. Remove the battery and its bracket.
4. Remove the bonnet.
5. Remove the air filter and gryazeotrazhayuschie shields.
6. Lift and fix a forward part of the car. Drain the coolant and engine oil. Remove the drive belts.
7. Remove the vacuum hoses, coolant hoses, exhaust hoses, wires and fuel pipes. Mark all detachable parts, to prevent any confusion during installation.
8. Remove the radiator cooling fan, fan shroud and the radiator (see Fig. Subsection 4.4). Disconnect from the engine upper and lower radiator hoses and radiator hoses, heater.
9. Disconnect the fuel tube from the engine and close their caps.
10. In the 4-cylinder models Remove the intake manifold bracket.
11. Remove the starter.
12. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
13. In the 4-cylinder models remove the generator.
14. Disconnect the cables of various systems of the engine.
15. Remove the plug (A) and ground wire (B) the engine wiring harness.
16. Remove the temperature sensors and the sensor of the crankshaft. Remove the engine wiring harness bracket (arrow) and place it to the side.
17. In the 4-cylinder models disconnect wires from the distributor of ignition (A) of the fuel injectors (B). Loosen the clamps (C) and disconnect the wire harness from the engine.
18. Remove the pump system hydrostrengthening steering (without disconnecting the hoses from the pump) and place it on the side of the engine.
19. Remove the air conditioning compressor (do not disconnect the hose from the compressor refrigerant) and place it on the side of the engine.
20. Disconnect the oxygen sensor. Disconnect the outlet (s) tube (s) from the outlet (s) of the collector (s). Remove the lower crossmember and exhaust pipe.
21. 6-cylinder engines remove the oil filter, remove the hose from the oil radiator and remove the radiator.
22. Fix the engine on the lift. Connect a lift to two lugs (arrows). Slightly lift the engine.
23. In the 4-cylinder models with automatic transmission, remove the right-hand drive axle shaft and remove the dust shield from the bottom of the torque converter gearbox casing. Remove the bolts that secure the torque converter to the drive plate and gently push the torque converter in the gearbox casing.
24. All models with manual gearbox the engine is removed, together with the box, so it must be disconnected from all the wires and cables. Remove axis.
25. Remove the bolts and nuts, twist the front and rear engine mounts.
26. In the 4-cylinder engine with automatic transmission, remove the bolts securing the box to the engine, and disconnect the engine from the gearbox. Torque converter must remain in the enclosure box. In all other models, the engine is removed together with the gearbox.
27. Make sure that in addition to the left and right engine mounts, longer nothing prevented his removal.
28. Remove the bolts left and right engine mounts.
29. Carefully lift the engine on the lift and remove it from the vehicle.
30. Lower the engine on a specially equipped rack or on the floor studio.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check the engine mounts and transmission if they are worn, replace them.
2. In engines with manual gearbox, inspect the clutch parts and lubricate the thrust bearing.
3. In engines with an automatic transmission, check the gasket and torque converter sleeve and lubricate the front part.
4. Connect the motor and the gearbox and tighten bolts.
5. Install the engine and other details upside-down removals.
