Check of a free wheeling of a steering wheel



PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Place the steering wheel in the middle position.
2. Through the open window, turn up and down the steering wheel. On the steering wheel free lift thus may leave a maximum of a = 25 mm without moving the wheels.
3. In the course of a relatively large free steering wheel need to check tie rods, steering and front axle backlash.
4. Strongly manually move up and down the tie rods (10) and longitudinal tie rods (11). Ball joints should have backlash. Otherwise, replace the hinges or tie rods.
5. If the tie rods have no backlash, the backlash at the steering wheel is too large, it is necessary to check the backlash or steering handle (working in the garage).
6. Light the lamp, dust cover hinges Tie and longitudinal steering rods and check for damage, and the look for traces of grease on the cuffs and around them.
7. If the damage of the dust cap, for safety reasons, replace the corresponding hinge with the dust cap. Penetrating dirt surely destroys the joint.
