Oil pressure

To ensure the supply of lubricant in any engine load, corresponding to the required oil pressure. Too cold and very viscous oil may be too much pressure. In this case, a pressure reducing valve opens the bypass line and sends the oil back to the oil pump. The oil cycle is then retained.

Checking oil pressure

1. Start up the engine and warm it up to operating temperature (heating determine the pointer of the coolant temperature). Take a trip to the car for a full guarantee. (Bodyshop oil temperature is checked by introducing the temperature sensor in the guide tube the oil dipstick. Regulated temperature - 90 ?� C).

2. Remove the top part of the air filter.

3. Remove the cap and remove it along with the sealing ring.

4. Replace the plug instead of the pressure gauge oil, setting the O-ring.

5. Check the oil level, if necessary, to make up its volume.

6. Start the engine and let it run at engine speed corresponding to the idle speed. Oil pressure at the same time should not be less than 0.3 bar, otherwise check the oil circuit.

7. Stop the engine.

8. Remove the pressure gauge.

9. Screw the stopper with the sealing ring and tighten to 40 Nm.

Supplement for 6-cylinder in-line engine:

1. Stopper for pressure measurement holes is located on the right side of the oil filter. Pressure values are given in the Table. 5.2.

Screw in the oil, setting a new sealing ring and tighten to 15 N ?� m.

Supplement for 6-cylinder V-engine:

1. Remove the fan with viscous coupling.

2. Remove the fan shroud.

3. Stopper hole pressure measurement is located below the oil filter housing. Pressure values are given in the Table. 5.3.

Screw in the oil, setting a new sealing ring and tighten to 20 Nm.

The control lamp of emergency pressure of oil

Oil pressure warning lamp lights up in the first place with a lack of oil. In this case, engine components receive little grease. Typically, this happens when the vehicle passes a turn at high speed at a low oil level. At the same time the oil pump sucks oil instead of air. Oil pressure drops sharply, which could lead to serious damage to the bearings.

Since the required level of oil pressure is always correct, in the E-Class abandoned oil pressure. The inclusion of a control lamp of oil level - that is the signal, which you should always pay attention.
